I'm a big fan of "hippopotamus" because of the way it sounds. Sadly, it doesn't come up in news copy very often. And I'm pretty sure I could never get it into any headlines.

I like "dullard" for the definition and the way the U and the LL work together.
It's also a great one-word retort in an argument.
