Daily Newspapers and Crogs

Robert Kuttner, writing in CJR, takes issue with the idea that newspapers are dying. In particular, check out his thoughts on blogs, reporting and "crogs." I couldn't agree more with what he says about the value of some web sites, the "carefully researched blogs" that he dubs "crogs" and their value. I do it all the time and find them rich, rich sources of information.
See http://www.cjr.org/issues/2007/2/Kuttner.asp

Editors of CJR and Kuttner will be talking about his ideas, along with several others: Steve Rattner, former New York Times reporter turned Wall Street investor; Jill Abramson, managing editor of The New York Times; Amanda Bennett, former editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer, now with Bloomberg News; and Jim Brady, executive editor of washingtonpost.com.

When: Wednesday, March 21st, at 7 p.m.

Where: the third-floor Lecture Hall at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, 116th and Broadway, New York

I just posted on my own blog a call for insight, and would very much appreciate your contribution. I'm looking for a word to describe:

That embarrassed feeling one has when uncertain if they have just spoken a thought out loud, usually while deep in thought in a public space.

Here's the link:

Did I just Say That Out Loud?

Hope you can help.
