Long-Distance Copy Editing

The New London Day, a former employer of mine, has hired a Washington Post reporter as its executive editor.

But the thing that caught my eye is the sentence about his wife living in Connecticut but working as a copy editor for The Washington Post.

Dwyer will relocate to the New London area with his wife, Karen Funfgeld, and their 9-month-old son. Funfgeld is an assistant news editor at the Washington Post and has served as an assistant managing editor for the Inquirer.

She will continue to work for the Post as a copy editor when she relocates to southeastern Connecticut.
