Why Newspapers Are Hurting

John Dvorak makes an important point--newspapers are suffering and losing customers because they're abandoning unique offerings, also known as original reporting. The rush to cut jobs has led to the same AP or Reuters story being used by hundreds and hundreds of sites, whether newspapers or blogs.

I have reason to search out certain bylines and sentences from stories, using Google. It's stunning to see how often a common phrase is repeated, so much so it appears to me that Google has begun limiting the number of times it will show the results of that search.
