Early Christmas Wish List
I would very much appreciate it if my fellow journalists would STOP referring to the president of the United States as "commander in chief" in routine references. He is commander in chief of the armed services; he is NOT commander in chief of all U.S. citizens and it is not a synonym for "president." People don't run to become commander in chief; it's not right to say Barack Obama isn't commander in chief yet when referring to the inauguration and not the military. Please and thank you.
