Newsrooms in Aurora and Naperville mourned Monday the sudden loss of a long-time colleague who succumbed to cancer over the weekend.
Mark Perry, a page designer for both The Beacon News and The Naperville Sun, died Saturday, just a few weeks after being diagnosed with colon cancer.
"We're deeply saddened by Mark's passing," said Naperville Sun Managing Editor Ted Slowik. "He was a loyal and dedicated member of our Sun family."
Perry had been a designer with The Sun since December 2006. Previously, he served as a sports copy editor for The Beacon News for many years. Jenn Mesenbrink, Beacon News design editor, described Perry as a "workhouse."
